Our finger food offerings are ideal for any occasion: whether for aperitifs, apero riche, cocktail parties, seminar snacks, or catering at home or in the office.
The modern snacks are perfect for replacing or complementing classic banquets. The traditional apero riche, where guests are served small bites while standing, is increasingly being replaced by bite-sized buffets. These allow guests to move freely and decide whether to eat sitting or standing.
Below you will find a selection of cold and warm bites as well as small desserts. Please note that individual bites have a minimum order quantity. We are happy to advise you further!

Egli Zuger Style
An absolute classic and an integral part of Guggital!
The perfectly poached freshwater fish is served with a light white wine cream sauce. This Zug specialty has delighted our guests for generations.
A little anecdote: It is said that the famous writer Hermann Hesse, during a visit to Zug, tried the Egli Zuger Style and was so thrilled that he mentioned the recipe in one of his letters to a friend. This delicious creation remains a highlight in our kitchen and is beloved by young and old alike.

It may seem unusual, but a vegan dish is actually one of the most popular dishes at Guggital, which delights us immensely!
A few years ago, we introduced our first vegan dish on the menu. We chose tartare, as our beefsteak tartare already enjoys an excellent reputation.
Our eggplant tartare immediately became a favorite among many guests and remains highly popular on our menu to this day, and is equally loved by part-time vegans.
For apero riche and finger food buffets, we offer the vegan tartare on crostinis.

This dish has accompanied us for 30 years and has become an absolute summer highlight.
A delightful combination of tender grilled chicken breast, fresh salads, creamy cottage cheese, crispy fried potatoes, juicy fruit, and aromatic garlic bread – the perfect treat for warm days.
For about 15 years, we have expanded our summer favorite and now also offer baked perch fillets (fresh Egli), as well as a vegetarian and vegan summer plate variation.

Homemade Ice Cream and Sorbet
Seventy years ago, when the Elsener family took over Guggital, the restaurant faced a great challenge. The previous owner had acquired a bad reputation, and so the people of Zug avoided Guggital.
To restore the house to its former glory, trained confectioner Franz Elsener began producing ice cream. Imagine: there were neither cooling systems nor electric aids. Franz Elsener made the ice cream by hand in a saltwater bath. The cooling was done with ice blocks stored in a chest and supplied by breweries as soon as the block melted away.
A laborious task, but with success. Walkers appreciated the fine ice cream, and over the years it was possible to acquire a cooling system and an ice cream machine. Even today, the ice cream is made according to old recipes, without artificial additives, but of course, no longer stirred by hand.
