Description
Museum of art and history
A few minutes' walk from the cathedral, the Musée d'art et d'histoire (MAH) is located in the heart of the Old Town. Dating from 1910, its building was designed by architect Marc Camoletti. The MAH is one of Switzerland's largest museums. Boasting some 650,000 objects, including major creations and unique series, it reveals part of its collections of applied arts, fine arts and archaeology over five floors. Each year, the museum presents two major exhibitions featuring the collection, as well as a wide range of thematic presentations. This building is the heart of the MAH, which also includes the Maison Tavel and the Musée Rath.
