ECAP is a non-commercial and non-profit adult education institute in Switzerland. Headquartered in Zurich, there are nine regional branches throughout Switzerland. With its courses, the intercultural organisation enables the education of migrants and employees in general, including those with little formal education. With more than 50,000 participants per year, ECAP is the second largest adult education institute in Switzerland – and the number one school for German and integration courses. Our main activities are: • Courses for the achievement of professional qualification (Art. 33 of the BBG) for construction (bricklayers, plasterer, painter), for sales (detail trade specialist EFZ and retail trade assistant EBA), as well as for metalworkers and blind fitters • Refresher courses for architects, engineers, designers etc. with AutoCAD • Refresher courses in the hotel and catering industry («The ABCs of the hotel industry and catering») • Business management, in cooperation with the Vocational and Trade School (SPAI) in Trevano • Computer science courses (introduction and consolidation in Word, Excel, Access, Internet, PowerPoint) with the possibility of obtaining the «European Computer Driving Licence» (ECDL) • Professional language courses (German and English in sales or commercial areas) with the possibility of obtaining the respective telc certificates • Literacy courses in cooperation with the Association Leggere & Scrivere della Svizzera italiana • Founding of company • Atelier TRI, application techniques for unemployed persons • Italian language courses in various municipalities, with the possibility of obtaining CELI certificates • «Preparatory Examination Courses» for electrical and masonry apprentices, in cooperation with Unia. Preparation for International Exams We prepare for major international exams such as Trinity, University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations, RSA, TOEFL, BEC, TOEIC, TOLES, GMAT, DELF-DALF, DELE, ZD, ZMP, ZOP, KDS, CELI. CELI Examination Center inlingua Lugano is now accredited as a CELI examination center by the University for Foreigners of Perugia for all levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. Translations and Interpreting We provide precise and punctual translation and interpreting services to and from all languages. The inlingua Method The direct method allows immediate use of communication structures and functions in the language being studied, excluding translation and minimizing theoretical explanation. The teaching is oriented towards situational conversation, with role plays and simulations to provide operational skills. Qualification of Teaching Staff Our native-speaking teachers are qualified and motivated, trained with inlingua Teacher’s Training to teach without translation, ensuring optimal classroom management. Educational Planning and Levels Planning is based on the six levels of the Common European Framework (CEF), with regular progress checks to monitor advancements. At the end of the course, an inlingua certificate is issued.
