After the metalworker certificate, he moved to the canton of Bern, where he successfully completed the apprenticeship as a metalwork draughtsman. Collegio Papio was founded in 1584 by Cardinal Carlo Borromeo thanks to a legacy bequeathal by Bartolomeo Papio, a patrician from Ascona who went Rome.
