The current building is a combination of three separate ones, parts of which date back to the 13th century. It was once the hospice of the city of Zurich and was owned by the Predigerkloster monastery. During the Reformation (1519 to 1531) by Huldrych Zwingli, the monastic orders left Zurich and the monasteries became privately owned. From about 1530, the building was called ‘Gasthof zum Schermesser im Niederdorf’. In 1703 it received the designation ‘Gasthof zum Hirschen’. So guests have been staying with us since the 14th century, making the Hirschen one of the oldest hotels in Zurich. e are continuing this tradition with a great deal of passion, warmth and hospitality.

Frisch renoviertes Hotel. Gut eingerichtet. Geschmackvolle zusammenstellung vom Modernem und Rustikalem. Zentral gelegen - trotzdem ruhig. Der Chef war ausgesprochen nett - und ein guter Gastgeber! Das Servicepersonal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein Bijou in dieser Stadt👍

Das Nachtessen am Sonntag, 7. September 2022 war ausgezeichnet. Sowohl das Mini-Rindsfilet als auch das Wienerschnitzel beides mit sehr gutem Gemüse war einmalig gut. Die freundliche Bedienung hat zum Wohlfühlbefinden beigetragen. Vielen Dank.

Wir haben Ihr Restaurant über unsere Tochter kennen und lieben gelernt. Sie wohnt in Uznach(SG) Das Essen ist immer vorzüglich, sehr nettes Servierpersonal einfach super!! Der Chef kommt noch persöhnlich an den Tisch und fragt nach wie das Essen ist das wissen wir sehr zu schätzen. Schapoo!! Freundliche Grüsse Fam.
