Dr. U. Schärli Geology+Geophysics was founded in 2000 by Dr. Ueli Schärli. He completed his education at the ETH Zurich in geology and geophysics. He successfully completed his dissertation in geothermal energy in 1989.

Dr. U Schärli is the patentee and co-inventor of the NIMO-T wireless temperature probe.

He also developed a measuring method for determining the specific heat capacity of rock samples.

The company mainly deals with the design and monitoring of geothermal plants and hydrogeological investigations. Increasingly, subsoil investigations are also being carried out.

In the laboratory, thermal rock properties can be measured and geotechnical investigations carried out on unconsolidated rock. The company also regularly participates in geothermal research projects.
