medico international switzerland is a future-oriented development cooperation organization and is committed to grassroots, holistic and adapted healthcare in the countries of the South. The vision of our work is "Healthcare for all". We understand health to mean physical, mental and social well-being.

History
The Centrale Sanitaire Suisse CSS was founded in Zurich on December 9, 1937 - at the time of the Spanish Civil War. As the Swiss section of the Centrale Sanitaire Internationale, it organized medical aid for republican Spain.

In 2002, the German-Swiss section of CSS decided to rebrand itself with a new logo and name: medico international schweiz, formerly Centrale Sanitaire Suisse, was founded as a new association.
