Our range of treatments

Prophylaxis

Prophylaxis instructions and dental cleanings are carried out in our practice according to the patient's situation by:

• the prophylaxis assistant
• the dental hygienist
• the dentist

In the case of very high caries susceptibility or serious gum problems, we also carry out bacteriological tests, which then form the basis for intensive prophylaxis or special treatments.

Periodontal therapy

Inflammatory diseases of the gums and the periodontium are called periodontitis.
In addition to conservative therapy, so-called "deep scaling", accompanied by antibiotic therapy depending on the situation, we also offer decontamination with the diode laser and the latest surgical techniques with various regeneration techniques.

Tooth-colored fillings and ceramic inlays

Cervical defects and caries diagnosed at an early stage can be treated with small, tooth-colored plastic fillings

Aesthetic restorations can also be achieved with direct resin fillings.

Large defects or old, large fillings that need to be replaced are treated with ceramic inlays, depending on requirements and budget.

Amalgam restorations

The amalgam is professionally removed under a rubber dam and with the help of the special clean-up eye.
The amalgam replacement can be accompanied by testing and elimination of heavy metals if desired. These tests and therapies for holistic dentistry are offered in our practice by Dr. Stefan Spörri, who is no longer clinically active himself.

Aesthetic corrections and crown and bridge reconstructions

If teeth are very badly damaged or if corrections in color and shape are desired, crowning makes sense. We prefer to use all-ceramic crowns.
For gap restorations, we offer firmly cemented bridges as a treatment option; these are usually also made of all-ceramic.

Partial prosthetics and complete prosthetics

In the case of multiple gaps or edentulism, we offer custom-made, removable dentures, which we support with implants if required.

Implantology with titanium implants and ceramic implants

We offer implants as tooth replacements, combined with bone augmentation and soft tissue augmentation if required.
We use the following implant types:

• Titanium implants from Thommen Medical, a Swiss precision implant, or implants from Biomet 3i on request
• Ceramic implants (zirconium implants / zirconium dioxide) from z-systems, also a Swiss precision implant. We have been using these ceramic implants since 2006 with the same success rate as titanium implants

 

Root treatments

Root canal treatment may be necessary in the case of deep caries or tooth fractures.
Root canal treatment involves cleaning the root canals, disinfecting them with medication and, if necessary, laser, followed by a dense root filling.
Root canal treatment is more difficult in the case of narrowed, so-called sclerosed canals, severely curved or branched canals.
Root-treated teeth are often severely weakened and often require crowning.

 

Complex rehabilitations

In complex rehabilitations, the problems are multi-layered.

Laser therapy

The diode laser is used for decontamination of periodontal pockets, root canals and peri-implantitis. The diode laser is also used for biostimulation and to promote healing processes in cases of inflammation, pain or after surgical procedures.

• If necessary, teeth that are not worth preserving are extracted under local anesthesia and surgically removed if necessary. We also have a piezosurgery device available for this purpose
