Description
Treatment methods
Phytotherapy (medicinal herbalism) and medicinal mushrooms
Medicinal herbalism or phytotherapy plays a central role in naturopathy and is very close to my heart. Nature has a treasure trove of medicinal plants in store for us
.
In the meantime, I have specialized in herbal medicine, intestinal health and leech therapy. After my training, I underwent intensive further training with Dr. D. Kähler (Hirumed in Wil) in the field of leech therapy. I also completed further training in gynecology and pediatrics and wrote my diploma thesis on the naturopathic treatment of infertility. One of my other specialties is edible wild herbs and I am happy to lead wild herb and medicinal plant excursions on request. For me, the greatest healing power lies in nature itself, I see it as a kind of primordial mother of us all, which is why I like to go out into the great outdoors with my clients on request.
Another major area of interest for me is the human intestinal flora, the composition and health of which is of great relevance for practically all clinical pictures. I am constantly educating myself in this area too and successfully apply this knowledge in practice on an ongoing basis. I also experiment a lot in my private life with the fermentation of various foods and thus the production of natural probiotics to maintain or build up the intestinal flora. I am happy to pass on information if you are interested.
In my treatments, I draw parallels with other holistic medical systems such as Chinese TCM and Indian Ayurveda. For example, I take the meridians and individual acupuncture points into account during my work and also use moxa therapy if indicated.
As an experienced yoga teacher, the topics of relaxation and stress management, movement, body awareness and breathing are very important to me and are included. I am also happy to advise you on questions regarding mindfulness and meditation or can recommend exercises from these areas. As part of my yoga teacher training, I have also studied the teachings of the chakras intensively and the knowledge of these important energy centers is also incorporated time and again.
Every treatment begins with a detailed medical history. This forms the basis and, in combination with various diagnostic methods, it becomes clear which direction the therapy should take. I like to take 60 to 90 minutes for this.By the way: naturopaths have to complete 600 hours of conventional medical basics such as anatomy, physiology and pathology (health and disease theory) during their training. I therefore also have in-depth knowledge in this area.
