Dr. Presern Ziga Franz – Contacts & Location
Description
This practice only offers orthodontic consultations, assessments and treatments, as well as associated dental surgery.
Orthodontics: You can book yourself in for an initial assessment and consultation, or you can be referred by your dentist.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the first assessment. At this first appointment, the patient will be examined and it will be determined whether treatment is needed and when is the best time to start treatment. An information sheet is handed out at this session.
If treatment is planned, two appointments will follow.- An appointment for the production of planning documents (X-rays, photos, bite registration, scan or impressions for models)
- A consultation appointment follows a few weeks later. Here, the initial situation for the treatment, the treatment proposal and the patient's required cooperation are explained to the patient and their legal guardians. A cost estimate is provided in writing.
Only with the information that the patients and their legal guardians have after this session do they decide whether or not they want to have treatment carried out by me
Costs: In the Swiss healthcare system, patients generally bear the costs of orthodontic treatment themselves.
Exceptions: Invalidity insurance (IV) covers the treatment costs up to the age of twenty for deformities and misalignments that are recognized as congenital defects in terms of their type and severity according to the list of congenital defects of the disability insurance.
In addition, the formal requirements for receiving IV benefits must be met.
In a few, precisely defined situations, the health insurance fund covers the treatment costs for orthodontics under basic insurance. For example, it pays for the alignment of misaligned canines in the upper jaw in adolescents if they have a medical condition. If you have taken out supplementary insurance (dental insurance), this supplement pays a contribution towards orthodontic treatment costs, depending on the policy. Please check the maximum age up to which benefits are paid. If your supplementary insurance pays out a maximum amount, please note whether it is a maximum amount per calendar year, or per treatment year, or a lump sum.Patient data
My staff and I handle patient data with care, in accordance with medical confidentiality.
Sales programs
For quality reasons, I deliberately refrain from participating in our suppliers' sales programs.
Invisible bracesSince 2002, we have also been treating our patients with "invisible" braces (aligners) using the Invisalign® system.
Caries treatments
We expressly point out to our patients that they remain in the care of their previous private dentist or school dentist for all tooth-preserving measures.
Patients from abroad
For administrative reasons, it is not possible for me to treat patients with permanent residence in the EU.
Combined orthodontic - oral surgery treatment
I realize combined orthodontic-orthodontic treatment concepts if required. I work together with several qualified oral surgeons
Orofacial malformations (for example: cleft lip and palate)
In these multidisciplinary treatments, I offer the appropriate orthodontic measures.
