Description
Separation counseling Wetzikon
We are a team of trained separation counselors in the Zurich, Aargau and Schaffhausen area. All counselors work independently and autonomously. We completed our training at the "Vereinigung für gemeinsame Elternschaft (VeV)" and the "mannschafft" association. We accompany you through the separation up to the divorce. We support each other through regular professional exchanges, including with the members of the Arbeitskreis Trennung Aargau.
If desired, we also offer counseling in pairs. We guarantee competence, confidentiality and efficiency. You decide whether you want to come to counseling alone or with your partner and how long you want to take advantage of our advice. The individual members of the team will be happy to inform you about appointments, costs and time requirements.

In love, engaged, married. And then comes everyday life. Some things change. The partner, the partnership, the children, life, the circumstances, perhaps also the job, the place of residence, the friends, the hobby
.Thoughts arise: Am I still happy and content? Is my partner happy too? Maybe you can change something together (-> marriage counseling/couples counseling). Or maybe not. After years of marriage, the stock of things we have in common is often exhausted. Then a separation or divorce makes sense for everyone involved. Around 40% of all marriages in Switzerland end in divorce. The average length of a marriage is 15 years. Divorce is no longer a social stigma.
Divorce doesn't have to mean arguments and hatred. A separation does not simply erase the good times of a partnership. The shared parenthood remains. Joint custody of the children is the new task. Separating means letting go, opening up to a new path, to new happiness or more satisfaction.

The more often thoughts of separation arise, the more it makes sense to clarify questions that arise in the event of a separation.
- Should, can and may I leave my husband/wife just like that? What are the financial consequences (-> spousal alimony, child alimony) and practical organizational consequences (-> childcare)?
- Do I need specific reasons for a separation?
- What exactly do I need to do if I want to separate? (-> separation counseling, divorce counseling, litigation support)
- Do I need a lawyer or are there more favorable solutions (-> voluntary, amicable, out-of-court separation agreement, judicial separation, matrimonial protection proceedings)?
- Is an agreement (-> separation) or a convention (-> divorce) needed?
- Who can stay in the marital home/house, who has to move out?
- Who owns what, who keeps what and who takes what with them (-> apartment, house, furniture, pictures, cars, household appliances etc.)?
- What happens to the children (-> best interests of the child, sole custody, alternating custody, child maintenance)? Where do the children live (-> with the father, with the mother, with both, residence model, alternating model)? Will I continue to see the children and how often (-> visiting rights, visiting arrangements)? Who decides if something happens to the children? (-> joint custody)
- What does joint custody of the children mean?
- Who has to pay what to whom? (-> spousal maintenance, child maintenance)
- What happens if the person liable to pay maintenance does not pay? (-> alimony advance, alimony collection, judicial marriage protection proceedings, Kesp)
- Who do I have to inform about my separation? (-> tax office, banks, insurance companies, school, etc.)
- How does it work with the taxes?
- How long should the separation last (-> min. 2 years as a prerequisite for a unilateral divorce petition, martial decision, individual duration)?
- When will the divorce follow (-> joint petition for divorce, unilateral petition for divorce)?
- Do I have to go to court? (-> not mandatory for separation, mandatory for divorce, district courts in Zurich and Aargau, cantonal court in Schaffhausen
Our aim is to enable partners to part with dignity, decency and mutual respect. We support you in this process and work with you to find the right way to separate (-> conflict resolution, mediation) in order to facilitate and sign an amicable separation agreement or a joint divorce convention.
During the separation, the main issues are spousal and child maintenance (-> calculation of maintenance claims), custody and care of the children, housing rights, childcare and any initial division of joint property (-> bank accounts, insurance, cars). The actual division of property within the meaning of the law (-> real estate, pension fund assets, 2nd pillar, AHV, AHV education and care credits, etc.) only takes place as part of the divorce.
