Grandir - Centre d'endocrinologie et diabétologie pédiatrique – Contacts & Location
Description
The pediatric endocrinology-diabetes center "growing up".
Consultations are offered at two locations, depending on what is easiest for you, either Martigny or Vevey.
- The " growing up" pediatric endocrinology-diabetology center.
We are two specialists in pediatric endocrinology diabetology. We trained in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology-diabetology in Switzerland, and each of us has spent our careers in different university hospitals. After years spent in international pediatric endocrinology-diabetology centers, we decided to return to the region where we both grew up to develop pediatric endocrinology-diabetology, and bring our experience gained over the years back to our region.
- Pediatric endocrinology
Pediatric endocrinology, is a sub-specialty of pediatrics that deals mainly with disorders related to hormone problems. These disorders affect, for example, growth (short stature, tall stature), puberty (precocious puberty, delayed puberty), glands such as the thyroid, pituitary, or gonads among others.
- Pediatric diabetology
Pediatric diabetology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that cares for children affected by diabetes. This is mainly type 1 diabetes, known as insulin-dependent diabetes, but can include other diagnoses (genetic diabetes, type 2 diabetes).
