The residential municipality of Untervaz lies on the left side of the Grisons Rhine Valley and nestles harmoniously at the foot of the Calanda in the corner of the Val Cosenz. Away from the major traffic flows, but still very well served by all modes of transport, the population of our village has almost doubled over the past 40 years, and today we have around 2620 inhabitants. The village has grown continuously from a small farming village. Industry, commerce and trade play an important role.

Over 30 active clubs and societies in cultural and sporting fields are proof that the village is alive and not just a dormitory for the nearby capital of Chur. The existing infrastructure and intact local recreation areas allow everyone to enjoy their leisure time and communities in a meaningful way.

A village community lives from its active population and from the residents who are involved in associations and other activities. We look forward to meeting you at a community meeting, at the fall market or on another occasion.
