The company Steinacher + Schmid AG was founded in 1973 by Herbert Steinacher and Urs Schmid in Basel. This was the starting signal with 2 employees. In the following years, the company in Basel continued to grow steadily thanks to a good order situation. In 1987, the company moved into the newly built factory building in Therwil. At this time, the company already employed around 11 people. In 2010, Mr. Daniel Frei took over the company as the new owner and managing director, allowing the company founders to take their well-deserved retirement. Already in the first year of the takeover in 2010, the number of employees was increased by 12 and the company currently employs around 30 people.
