The municipality of Reute is located in the Appenzeller Vorderland. Nestled in the hilly landscape on the outermost edge of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Reute looks out on all sides.

With its 3 hamlets of Mohren, Reute and Schachen, the small municipality in the Appenzeller Vorderland region overlooking the Rhine Valley has its very own charm. Away from the major traffic axes and yet very close to them (Au highway access, public transport), Reute can offer you living in the countryside in a landscape with little fog. Thanks to the good accessibility in various directions, we can also recommend ourselves as a location for small businesses. The lively municipality, with just under 700 inhabitants at 700 - 800 meters above sea level, is an attractive, future-oriented community to live in.
