The independent public-law institution Technische Betriebe Glarus Nord will unite the former electricity supply companies EW Näfels, EW Niederurnen, EW Mollis, EW Oberurnen, EV Bilten, EV Filzbach, EV Obstalden and EV Mühlehorn as of January 1, 2011 and thus cover the energy requirements in the new municipality of Glarus Nord for a total of around 19,000 inhabitants.
