Firefighting training courses
The current legislation on health and safety in the workplace requires the
employer to provide training and information to all workers on the risks present in the
work environment and how to behave in case of an emergency.
The employer's obligation is not limited to just handing out job descriptions and any
information pamphlets.
The regulations require the employer to designate workers as emergency
managers; their training must cover the fire risk in particular .
All workers must be put in a position to understand how to work safely and above all
they must be able to identify, in case of need, one or more contact persons for that
reason fire safety training is essential.
For the maximum protection of their colleagues, the personnel in charge of the management and safety of the
workplace must compulsorily participate in training courses.
They must be trained in the following areas
We would like to point out that failure to comply with this legislative obligation exposes the

CLASS A
FIRES FROM SOLID MATERIALS
Fires from solid materials generally organic in nature, the combustion of which takes place with the formation of embers.
SOLID COMBUSTIBLE (wood, paper, coal, textiles, shavings, hides, rubber and derivatives, etc.).
Burning is manifested by the consumption of the fuel often luminescent as embers and with low flame emission." In this case, the extinguishing action can be exerted with "substances that can also be deposited on the fuel (extinguisher powder), which is able to sustain the extinguishing agent without engulfing it and/or sinking it inside.
Extinguishing agents: WATER, FOAM and CHEMICAL POWDER.
CLASSE B
FIGHTS FROM FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS
.Fires from liquids or liquefiable solids.
FAMMABLE LIQUIDS (gasoline, diesel, alcohol, etc...).
Combustion is manifested by the consumption of fuel often luminescent as embers and with low flame emission." In this case, the extinguishing action can be exerted with "substances that can also be deposited on the fuel (extinguisher powder), which is able to support the extinguishing agent without engulfing it and/or sinking it inside.
Extinguishing agents: CO2, FOAM and CHEMICAL DUSTS.
CLASS C
FLAMMABLE GAS FIRE
.FLAMMABLE GASES (propane gas, methane, hydrogen, etc.)
.The characteristic of this fuel "is that it possesses neither form nor volume of its own."
Combustible gases are very dangerous when mixed in air, due to the possibility of generating explosions. The extinguishing action is exerted by the cooling, separating action of the gas-air mixture. In fact, outside well-defined mixing percentages, the combustible gas does not burn.
EASTINGUENTS: CO2 and CHEMICAL DUSTs
CLASS D
FIRE FROM FLAMMABLE METALS
.Flammable METALS (magnesium, potassium, sodium, etc...).
Class D fires, "refer to very special types of reaction of solids, mostly metals, which have the characteristic of interacting, even violently, with common extinguishing media," particularly with water. The most common combustible elements that give rise to this category of fires are light alkali earthy metals such as magnesium, manganese, aluminum (the latter only if in fine powder form), alkali metals such as sodium, potassium and lithium. Reactions of peroxides, chlorates and perchlorates are also classified as fires in this category.
EASTINGUENTS: CHEMICAL DUSTS
CLASS F
FUELS FROM OILS AND FATS
Fires involving cooking media, cooking oil and vegetable or animal fats, in cooking appliances: "introduced by standard UNI EN 2:2005;
Based on the rules regarding EU regulatory measures, the EN2 standard has the "status of an Italian national standard," which entails obligations of compliance and observance.
The UNI EN 3-7:2008 standard specifies that powder and CO2 fire extinguishers should not be used for class F fires, and their use for such types of fires is considered dangerous.
For this reason, the above fire extinguishers should not be tested according to standard UNI EN 3-7:2008 and should not be marked with the pictogram class F.
ESTINGUENTS: FOAM
