The medical practice is called MediShou. Medi stands for medicine while Shou is an ancient concept rooted in Daoist philosophy that cannot be translated into a word. Longevity, as a translation, does not express all that is contained in the Shou concept. In the philosophical thought of Daoism, health and longevity are not only dependent on the heritage we inherit and are born with, but are mainly affected by lifestyle. The first responsibility of ancient man was not to squander the heritage he inherited but to know how to use it properly through a wise lifestyle in order to live the days assigned by destiny. Since according to Traditional Chinese Medicine any physical or psychic imbalance finally arouses disease, the goal of this medicine is to help people find and regain the energy balance in which good health consists, and consequently, according to Daoist philosophy, the Shou.
