What are orthoses

Orthoses have a stabilizing, relieving, corrective, supportive and protective effect in cases of restricted or absent function of an upper or lower limb, the neck or the trunk. They are optimally applied to the affected areas from the outside, individually made by hand with precision or, if possible, carefully adjusted and fitted as a ready-made article. Orthoses are suitable both as a permanent aid and for rehabilitation and sporting activities.

When are supports used?

A bandage in the orthopaedic sense is a so-called "compression knit", made of firm yet elastic fabric, which can be applied to various parts of the body.

Orthopaedic supports are primarily used in two areas today:

• For therapeutic purposes, they are used for muscular restrictions or joint complaints, such as strains, as they support the healing process by preventing painful movements and protecting against renewed overloading.
   
• For prophylactic purposes, they can prevent painful overuse in sport. Apart from that, they warm the skin and muscles and promote blood circulation.

What are prostheses?

Prostheses are used to take over the function of a missing body part and, if desired, also restore the external appearance.

Prostheses are available from the toes to the hips, and from the fingers to the shoulder.

What are compression stockings?

Compression stockings consist of elastic fibers that exert pressure (compression) on the tissue. They are used in two different areas:

• To support the leg veins by improving blood circulation. This makes them medically effective for swollen, tired legs, for example during pregnancy, or for varicose veins and venous disorders.
   
• In the case of lymphoedema and lipoedema, they eliminate the excessive accumulation of lymph fluid or unhealthy fat distribution. They can be worn on the legs and arms
.
• Compression stockings are available in many different trendy colors - we will be happy to advise you.

What are orthopaedic insoles?

Many foot misalignments and foot complaints can be effectively and sustainably counteracted with orthopaedic insoles. The misalignments are determined digitally as part of the foot and gait analysis. The data obtained is then produced in our company using a CAD program according to your individual requirements.

What are sensorimotor insoles?

These are insoles that can influence the muscles through targeted pressure points.

Weak muscles can thus be activated and hyperactive muscles controlled.

The individually CAD-designed and CNC-milled insoles are manufactured in our workshop.

What is the purpose of a foot and gait analysis?

The dynamic foot and gait analysis identifies unphysiological movement sequences as well as misalignments of the musculoskeletal system and pressure points on the feet.

Dynamic and static pressure plates analyze the extent and distribution of the forces acting on the foot and make them graphically visible in digital form, forming the basis for optimal foot bedding.

What are shoe adjustments?

For foot complaints of various kinds, such as osteoarthritis, it is possible to adapt ready-made shoes to the customer's individual needs, for example by means of roll-off aids, buffer heels or sole stiffeners.

What are orthopaedic custom-made shoes?

Orthopaedic custom-made shoes are used when standard orthopaedic fittings are not sufficient, particularly in the case of foot deformities.

For this type of treatment, the shape of the affected foot is measured precisely in order to adapt the footwear to the patient's individual circumstances in the best possible way.

Tailored orthopaedic shoes are recommended for diabetes, rheumatism and osteoarthritis.

What are rehabilitation and medical products?

Rehabilitation products include walking aids (such as hand canes, forearm walking sticks and rollators) and other aids such as wheelchairs. We can also offer you a wide range of medical products.

What are orthopaedic standard shoes?

These are shoes that are suitable for treating pathological foot shapes by supplementing them with orthopaedic shoe technology measures, i.e. individual foot bedding and orthopaedic shoe adjustments.

What are comfort shoes?

In our range you will find a careful selection of shoe models with a high level of comfort. All our models are equipped with comfortable removable beds, which are particularly suitable for orthopaedic insoles.
