al30 architectes Sàrl – Contacts & Location
Description
The brainchild of Andres Goetz, Simon Monnier and David Pecoraro, all EPF graduates and SIA members, al30 is a Lausanne-based architectural practice founded in 2006 in their offices on rue de l'Ale. The three friends, who each had their own structure but shared common premises, decided to join forces to form a team with a broader range of skills.
.Success came quickly, with 1st prize won in 2008 for the project " A la croisée des chemins ", in collaboration with landscape architects Hüsler & associés. The competition, initiated by the Commune d'Ecublens, proposed a complex program of day-care centers, library, school refectory and sheltered housing. This success was followed by another in 2009 with the Gollion competition, the theme of which was the construction of some sixty housing units in a rural setting.
.The office's activities expand and the team grows. In 2009, the office moved to Avenue d'Ouchy and now employs 12 people. This configuration is still in place today, providing an ideal working environment on a human scale. The three founders, a number that emphasizes discussion and the sharing of ideas, are the core of a close-knit team, not hesitating to challenge itself with each new project.
Alongside the regular practice of competitions, the office retains a significant share of private and institutional mandates with a stated desire to manage projects from A to Z, integrating design and execution. This practice of working on site enriches the design through the experience acquired, and creates a bond of trust with the clients. Other forms of project management are also successfully practiced, either as a general or total contractor, or as a partnership of contractors for site management. This modularity has enabled bureau al30 to acquire projects of various sizes: housing projects of 70 to 100 apartments, such as Epalinges, Gollion, Borex or Les Résidences du Lac, urban densification projects such as Noirmont or Prilly, or conversion projects such as the Maxibulles day-care center or the La Villanelle PPE in Lausanne. This has enabled us to develop themes on several projects, such as the establishment of new residential districts in village centers in the case of Gollion and Borex, or the densification of plots while preserving the existing built environment in the Noirmont and Prilly projects.
.Al30's skills cover a broad spectrum, exercised at all levels of the project, combining a mastery of the development of concepts close to the user and respectful of the history and qualities of the place, from the study of execution details to a solid experience of realization and the construction site.
