Biogas – nature's natural cycle
Various organic residues such as green waste, food scraps, by-products from food production, manure, dung, etc. are produced throughout the human and animal food chain and are recycled in our biogas plant.
In the fermenters of our plant, these organic residues are converted into biogas, a high-quality and CO2-neutral energy source, through the process of fermentation. Biogas is used as a fuel, heat source, or in decentralized electricity production.
In addition to the gas, the nutrients from the organic waste products are retained after fermentation. These are used to produce liquid fertilizers and soil improvers, which are used in agriculture and horticulture and make an important contribution to nutrient supply and humus formation. This has a positive effect on soil structure, water, air, and nutrient balance, as well as biological soil activity and plant growth—the natural cycle is complete.
