Institution where Geneva's business, political and cultural elite meet and mingle, Le Lyrique is the city's oldest surviving restaurant-brasserie.

Its generous terrace, high second-empire ceiling, imposing columns, but also its tasty cuisine and vibrant atmosphere : everything about Le Lyrique invites the pleasure of discovery and conviviality, a good time shared.

Originally named Brasserie Bâle-Strasbourg, Le Lyrique opened its doors in 1881, barely two years after the inauguration of its neighbor the Grand-Théâtre, an institution dedicated to opera as its name does not indicate. The presence of the Musée Rath (1824), the Conservatoire (1858) and the Victoria Hall (1894) on the same perimeter of Place-Neuve, in the very heart of the city, soon made the Lyrique the "rendez-vous gourmand incontournable" for artists and lovers of music and opera. Throughout the 20th century and right up to the dawn of the new century, it maintained and cultivated its special place among Geneva's restaurants.

Under the leadership of its new owner, won over by the charm and character of the place, Le Lyrique innovates and invites you from autumn 2017 in its new setting, respectful of a history loaded with symbols and a unique spirit of its kind.
