When we go to the psychotherapist, we usually come with a question: why do I systematically react this way in such and such a situation, even though it doesn't improve things? Why, despite my best efforts, am I unable to have satisfying relationships? What is it that makes me feel sad, even though I seem to have everything I need?
How is it that I regularly find myself in situations that bring me stress and suffering?
We realize that something unpleasant is repeating itself in our lives, and that it's beyond our control, beyond our understanding. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy enables us to free ourselves from these kinds of repetitions, which generate psychic suffering, relationship difficulties or both.
It's through what's played out in the relationship with the psychotherapist that we manage to identify what's at the root of these repetitions, and are able to free ourselves from their hold.
