Kuster Transporte GmbH – Contacts & Location
Description
Company history
From 1920, Eduard Kuster ran a sawmill in Ermenswil. He transported the necessary wood to the sawmill, first by horse and later by tractor and truck.
In 1964, his son Edi spun off the transport branch and continued to run it as an independent transport company.Unfortunately, Edi Kuster died in an accident, whereupon the company was taken over in 1966 by his brother, the then 22-year-old FBW mechanic Walter Kuster. At that time, the company mainly transported timber. At that time, timber was often transported from the Vosges mountains to Vorarlberg or the Black Forest and also from various parts of Switzerland to many sawmills.
In 1975 the new building (parking garage with workshop and residential building) at Twirrenstrasse 1 in Eschenbach was occupied.
Walter Kuster continued to develop the company and ran it as a sole proprietorship until 2004. His wife Berta was responsible for the administrative side until then. In addition to timber transportation, more and more transportation for special civil engineering, such as concrete piles, Larssen, etc. was added. Since around the mid-1980s, this has become a main line of business.
In 2004 the sole proprietorship Walter Kuster was transformed into the company Kuster Transporte GmbH by Berta, Walter and their son Thomas. Walter and Thomas Kuster now managed the company together. Prior to this, Thomas gained experience as a trained truck mechanic in the workshop, several years as a driver in international long-distance transport, completed further commercial training and successfully passed the professional examination for road transport dispatchers with a federal certificate.
Walter Kuster has been retired since 2009, but still works part-time in the company. Thomas Kuster manages the company, schedules and is responsible for all office activities. If time permits or if there is an emergency, he also likes to drive himself.- German
