Video surveillance
Safe is safe
Video surveillance is becoming increasingly important for companies and also in the private sector. After all, break-ins, theft and vandalism are not uncommon
In 2019, almost 64,000 burglaries were reported to local police stations in Switzerland. According to the Federal Statistical Office, around 154,000 theft offenses were reported last year. Crimes in the area of vandalism are also very high. Around 78,500 incidents took place here, of which almost 32,000 involved theft.
In Austria, the figures are slightly higher. According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, there were over 164,000 reports in 2019, which corresponds to a decrease of 4.4 percent compared to 2018 (171,700 reports). The figures for vandalism are also very high. Around 57,300 incidents took place here.
If we look at the D-A-CH region, we see that Germany is the sad frontrunner. The Statista website listed over 1,820,200 million theft offenses in 2019. Of the 5,430,000 registered crimes in 2019, the areas of vandalism and damage to property formed one of the larger groups of crimes, accounting for around 12%, or just under 652,000 cases.
So if you want to focus on security, you are on the safe side with the installation of a surveillance system or an alarm system.
