Tavillon-Bois & Amiante – Contacts & Location
Description
Tavillon Bois masters the techniques of tavillonnage and works with wood while respecting the traditions and heritage of the canton of Vaud. The company applies old-fashioned woodworking techniques to old and new roofs and frames, perpetuating the ancestral knowledge of the tavillonneur.
Roofing craftsmen at the service of housing: renovated farms, cottages, residential homes...
Tavillon Bois is involved in the manufacture and installation of tavillons and this for all roof and facade constructions or renovations.
Crafted from noble wood felled in winter, preferably during the last quarter of the waning moon, tavillon in principle in spruce is manufactured from November to March. The tavillonneur's work is entirely handcrafted, in keeping with tradition. The tavillonnage technique has the advantage of embracing the wood's irregularities.
Several species of wood are used for shingles: fir, larch, chestnut.
