The bookshop on Kronenplatz has a long tradition and is therefore well established not only in the city but also in the surrounding Emmental valley. The former owners, the Langlois family, were originally also publishers and, among other things, published the "Bauernspiegel", one of Gotthelf's first works.

Today, the bookshop presents itself as a lively cultural venue. Readers can find a varied and always up-to-date range of books here. Since the merger with the Volare bookshop, a small, well-kept Christian section has also been set up.

Crime thrillers play a particularly important role. The bookshop on Kronenplatz sees itself as a partner of the internationally renowned Burgdorf Crime Fiction Days and is involved in their programming. It ensures that crime fans from near and far can always find new murderous material in the peaceful old town of Burgdorf.
