Unique thermal and wellness oasis

 

The unique thermal and wellness oasis in Brigerbad looks back on a long history. The hot thermal springs in Brigerbad were already known in Roman times. Under the management of the couple Hans and Cécile Kalbermatten, the spa has developed since the 1950s into a modern thermal facility in the middle of the sun-drenched Rhone Valley in Valais. The springs, which are between 21 and 50 degrees hot, provide lithium-containing sodium-calcium sulphate water, which is particularly beneficial for arthritis and rheumatic complaints.

 

In summer, Brigerbad is one of the largest open-air thermal baths in Switzerland with a water surface area of 2600 m2, offering you a fantastic panorama of the Valais and Bernese Alps. What could be better than relaxing in the warm thermal water and letting your gaze wander over the imposing mountain backdrop?

The redesigned thermal spa has a lot to offer since its reopening at the end of 2014. In summer, 2600 m2 of water surface beckon - making Brigerbad the largest open-air thermal spa in the Alps! In addition to relaxation, fun is also guaranteed with the lazy river and alpine slide...

 

In the spacious spa area, a place of well-being awaits you on two floors with various saunas, steam baths and Kneipp pools...

A highlight for decades has been the famous grotto swimming pool carved into the rock with many underwater jets...

 

The new wellness and beauty area offers an extensive range of massages, wellness baths, cosmetics and body care. A professional team is available every day so that you can really let yourself go again...

 

We will spoil you with delicious lunch and dinner menus in the Cécile restaurant, which offers a fantastic view of the thermal spa from the garden terrace. In addition, you will find fine snacks and refreshing drinks in the Bistro Cristal and in summer in the Buvette La Pergola...

The spacious spa was completely redesigned in 2013-2014 with the extensive conversion into a thermal and wellness oasis. The area is accessible separately from the rest of the thermal spa with the red wristband and invites you to relax and feel good. Children and young people under the age of 16 are not permitted to enter.

In the saunas, infusions with special aromas take place daily, which are announced on our info screen at the guest center and by announcements. The aromas also change periodically in the steam saunas. To cool off, there is sheltered access to the outdoors on the upper floor, where sun loungers and a cold water pool provide refreshing relaxation.

An additional highlight is the famous grotto pool in the rock with its 40-42 degree water. For the more daring, a short dip in the adjacent cold water grotto is also worthwhile.
