The composter, located in Boudevilliers in the Val-de-Ruz region north of Neuchâtel, is an open-air composter that provides quality potting soil useful in gardens for:

Composting is a process by which biodegradable materials are brought together to be converted into a stabilized humus amendment, thanks to the work of living biological organisms under controlled conditions.

Dozens of species of microorganisms and small animalcules thrive by the millions on organic waste, feeding on sugars, proteins, cellulose and other constituents of organic matter.

The aim of composting methods is to optimize techniques so that the various waves of microorganisms develop under favorable conditions and within a reasonable timeframe.
