Notaries are a free, academic and public profession in the Canton of Bern - separate from the administration and jurisdiction. We carry out our work free from instructions and on our own account and responsibility. We protect the interests of our clients equally and neutrally. In addition, we mediate between the parties in order to avoid or resolve conflicts. We are subject to a duty of confidentiality and are liable for any damage that we or our employees culpably cause.
