Solutions
We are masters of our trade as patent attorneys: filing, defending and enforcing intellectual property rights, as well as attacking and destroying opposing intellectual property rights (more under "legal fields").
However, we want to offer our clients more than just legal building blocks. Our aim is to provide solutions for entrepreneurial tasks and special challenges. To this end, we work closely with Integrate-IP GmbH, our partner for searches and patent data analysis.
Legal areas
We focus on the legal fields of patents, designs and trademarks. We represent our clients directly before the Institute for Intellectual Property (Switzerland), the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). We are also admitted to practice as patent attorneys before both the Swiss and German Federal Patent Courts. Through our global network and in cooperation with our long-standing local attorneys, we also represent our clients before the offices and courts of the various countries.

Technical fields
Our expertise and industry knowledge
As patent attorneys, we are experts in specific fields thanks to our university degree in a scientific or technical subject (physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, aerospace engineering). Thanks to many years of mandates, we have also acquired specialist knowledge in various sectors and are constantly learning. Technical areas in which we have acquired special expertise include:
Machinery and plant engineeringHistorically speaking, mechanical and plant engineering began with the invention of the steam engine by Thomas Newcomen and its industrial development by James Watt (patent application 1769). A lot has happened since then - today, the sector is one of the largest branches of industry in our economy and will continue to develop due to trends such as digitalization and sustainability.
Vehicle construction
Vehicle construction includes, for example, the large European automotive industry including its suppliers, but also highly developed building technology. These sectors are subject to change as a result of social trends and legislation, which offers great opportunities for new developments and patents.
Construction
The construction industry makes a significant contribution to gross value added in Germany and Switzerland and has seen steady, moderate growth in recent years. Motivated in particular by the sub-sectors of architecture and construction technology, new solutions worthy of protection are constantly being created here.
Electrical engineering
Electrical engineering is an engineering science that has brought great progress to almost every area of industry and life. Many issues of the future - for example in the fields of robotics or sensor technology - will involve solutions and products from this discipline and thus continue to produce innovations.
Medical technology
Medical technology combines technology & engineering with the medical expertise of doctors, for example to improve the diagnosis or treatment of sick people. European legislation is increasingly harmonizing national legislation, which also simplifies the management of intellectual property.
Biotechnology
The use of enzymes, cells or organisms in technical applications is an up-and-coming field. There is still great potential to use nature for progress in various industries, agriculture and medicine.
Process and process engineering
Processes often harbor hidden potential for improvements or even innovations. Process engineering permeates all industries and is on the verge of exciting new developments due to developments such as automation or robotics.
Technical physics
For centuries, the practical application of physics in engineering and construction has repeatedly produced major, ground-breaking innovations that often "disrupt" entire industries. Individual rather new sub-areas such as environmental physics or computer simulations also promise exciting developments in the future.
