The CAFFÈ BAR
This small, iconic caffè bar at Mittlere Strasse 26 in Basel has been around for almost twenty years. Alfons Schuwey - now with his team - has been providing authentic Italian coffee enjoyment there for just as long. The espresso is brewed on a handmade Neapolitan hand lever machine by Attilio Bosco.
Visitors are offered two types of espresso to drink: the Quarta Argento, a classic southern Italian espresso blend from Lecce - the house blend, so to speak, and a special espresso roast that changes from time to time. In addition to the espresso, there are of course all the coffee specialties that you are used to these days ;-)In the early years, the 50 square meters also housed a small workshop area, affectionately known as the "Ambulatorium". Minor repairs for customers were carried out there directly and various machines were tested. In the meantime, the coffee machine sector has been expanded and professionalized. The "small" workshop is now located at the back and right next door is another business premises with a workshop and showroom.
For the small appetite in between, there are freshly prepared piadinas, pinsa romana or a homemade soup. For the sweet tooth, various homemade cakes and pastries.The services
