"It doesn't always have to be an implant"
Dentures are generally divided into two groups; fixed dentures and removable dentures.
Fixed means that the prosthetic reconstruction is attached in such a way that the patient cannot remove it themselves. These are usually cemented and, more rarely, screw-retained crowns or bridges that are only supported on abutment teeth or implants.
Removable dentures include a wide range of prosthetic variants from full dentures to partial dentures. The reconstruction is attached to individual abutment teeth and the missing teeth are supplemented so that they stand over the edentulous section of the jaw. This edentulous section is usually provided with a gum-like pink plastic mask and is also known as a saddle, to which the denture teeth are then attached.Total dentures rest solely on the mucous membrane of the jaw, whereby the palate is also covered in the case of upper dentures. They are held in place by the suction force between the denture base and the oral mucosa. In certain cases, a few individual tooth roots with a press stud or implants with a press stud are used to improve retention, particularly in the lower jaw.
There are a number of variants of partial dentures. The partial dentures are attached either with simple wire clasps, with high-quality cast clasps, with press studs or by means of attachments to crowns or special double crowns. Here too, there is a large price difference depending on whether clasps or crowns are used to anchor the partial denture.
Discolored teeth are bleached during bleaching. Tooth discoloration is caused by
certain eating habits (e.g. tea or coffee consumption), smoking, but also by medication.
A distinction is also made between external discoloration and internal discoloration (often in nerve-treated teeth).
Treatments always require professional teeth cleaning first. It is also essential to clarify the type of discoloration (external or internal). It should also be borne in mind that existing fillings do not re-stain and may need to be replaced after bleaching.
When bleaching external discoloration, a distinction is made between home bleaching and in-office bleaching. With home bleaching, a custom-fit tray is first produced, which then serves as a medication carrier for the bleaching agent. Again, there are two types of bleaching agent for use either during the day or at night, when the tray should be worn.
With in-office bleaching, the bleaching agent for external discoloration is applied to the teeth in the dental practice after the gums have been isolated and the treatment is finished after about an hour.
For internal discoloration, the nerve-treated tooth is opened and the bleaching agent is inserted into the tooth itself by means of an insert and sealed with a temporary filling. After a few days, the bleaching agent is removed again and a permanent filling is placed.Contact us
