Sternenmehr - An offer from Familycare Basel for young and old in the heart of Basel

In the middle of Basel, in addition to a daycare center, we also offer flexibly bookable childcare, a range of courses for young and old, lecture series on current educational topics and a modern event room for your own event on over 1000m². Discover our wide range of services.

 

Opening times

The Sternenmehr is open on weekdays from 07:00 to 21:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 18:00. With the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year, public holidays and Carnival Monday, there are no vacations or closing days.

 

Childcare

Childcare at Sternenmehr is a high-quality childcare service that can be booked at short notice for children aged from three years to primary school age.

Care staff and scope of care

The care is provided by professionals at daycare center level, but due to the short-term bookability, even for individual hours or days, it does not pursue an educational and training claim comparable to a daycare center.

Catering

Full catering is provided, including breakfast, snack, lunch, afternoon snack and, if required, dinner. The catering has been awarded the "Fourchette verte - Ama Terra" label and is therefore based on the criteria for balanced meals for small children according to the Swiss food pyramid.

The baby porridge is mainly prepared in-house in organic quality. If special foods are required, we rely on long-standing nursery suppliers with organic quality and branded products

Costs

You can find an overview of the costs on the information sheet "Overview of Sternenmehr prices". In addition to meals  (individually bookable), all hygiene products are also included. All excursions and participation in the daily program as part of childcare are also included in the price.

We currently require a lead time of 48 hours (two working days) for the organization of childcare.

Please note:

If we have fewer than three bookings or children at the same time for childcare at Sternenmehr on a Saturday, the price is CHF 35.00 per hour of childcare. We can inform you about the current booking situation 48 hours before the start of the desired care.

A child may be cared for at Sternenmehr for a maximum of 16 hours per week in accordance with §8 of the Ordinance on the Care of Children in Day Care Centers and Day Families (Child Day Care Center and Day Family Ordinance, KTV).

 

Rental of the event hall

The Sternenmehr event hall is located on the second floor of the Kirschgarten office building in the heart of Basel. It is the ideal venue for events of all kinds and is multifunctional

Hire prices for the event room

• Half day: CHF 500
• Full day: CHF 800
• Evening event: CHF 350

The rental includes seating, tables, use of the available presentation technology, water and coffee as well as cleaning.

Special conditions apply for non-profit organizations and associations as well as for members of the Familycare Basel association.
