Joy and David Tschümperlin met on a trip to Thailand and have dreamed of having their own restaurant ever since. When they became aware of the former "Golden Key", they seized the opportunity to make their dream come true. After several months of renovations, the restaurant opened its doors for the first time in the Bäderquartier on December 27, 2022 under the new name "Phra Nakhon" with new tenants. Phra Nakhon means "old great capital" in German. A reference to Swiss history, as the spa town was the seat of the Diet at the time of the Swiss Confederates and thus the secret capital of the old Confederates.

With Joy as the creative and culinary mind in the kitchen, together with David as the experienced restaurant manager and host, good conditions are already in place for the success of Phra Nakhon. Joy was born in Thailand and learned to cook in her family's restaurant business. She later worked as a computer programming teacher in Thailand - until she met David. She has lived in Switzerland since 2016 and worked as a chef and cooking instructor at Eventküche Baden.

David is the host in the service department and the MacGyver for everything. In addition to his love of good food, his heart beats for wine and gin - hence the extensive wine list at Phra Nakhon. After his apprenticeship as a chef at Sternen Würenlingen, he gained a wide range of experience in various establishments. His stations included the Einstein in Aarau, the Restaurant Lemon and the Trafo Betriebs AG in Baden as well as the National Davos. After working as head chef at the Piazza Baden, David graduated from the hotel management school in Zurich and then worked as managing director of the Biergarten Baden, Badi Diner Oerlikon and most recently as hotel manager of the Blue City Hotel Baden.
