Description
Dr Kevin Gillmann - Ophthalmologist
Ophthalmologist, researcher and glaucoma specialist,Dr Gillmannis a graduate of the universities of Paris La Villette (MArch), Newcastle (MBBS), London (MBA), Lausanne - UNIL (MD), Kingston (PhD) and Harvard Medical School (PgCert MM).
A former Honorary Fellow at London's Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he received extensive training in complex cataract and glaucoma surgery, he is also a researcher and instructor at Stanford University, USA. He was recently named one of the world's Top 0.5% glaucoma specialists by the ExpertScape website.
Editor of the book "The Science of Glaucoma Management", he has contributed to the writing of several textbooks and published over 50 scientific articles on the subject, including a thesis on personalized glaucoma management. His work, mainly dedicated to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), neuroprotection and personalized care, has been presented at numerous conferences and featured on the front pages of several high-impact magazines and journals such as Nature's Eye and the British Journal of Ophthalmology, and has received funding from the BrightFocus Foundation and the Swiss Glaucoma Research Foundation.
Dr Gillmann a also taught at the Universities of Liverpool and London, where he received an award for academic excellence. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. In addition to his clinical activities, he has dedicated part of his research to improving the quality of care and patient experience in Swiss healthcare services. In particular, he has published an architectural thesis on the interconnections between hospital design and patient perception.
Aside from research, Dr Gillmann particularly enjoys the guitar, coffee, and walks in the snow with his dog.

Les atteintes suivantes peuvent notamment nécessiter une prise en charge urgente :
- les traumatismes ou corps étrangers oculaires,
- une perte de vision soudaine ou rapide, même si la vision revient par la suite,
- des déformations visuelles ou une zone floue et fixe dans la vision,
- des flashs ou des éclairs dans la vision,
- une forte gêne à la lumière,
- une paupière gonflée dans un contexte de fièvre, de malaise ou de baisse de vision,
- un oeil rouge et/ou douloureux chez un porteur de lentilles de contact,
- un oeil rouge ou douloureux avec des antécédents d'uvéites.
