Familienpraxis König AG Dr.med. Khaled Derani – Contacts & Location
Description
After spending his childhood in the United States and France, Dr. Raffaele Grimaldi returned with his family to Italy, to his hometown of Rome, where he completed his medical studies.
He then passed the USMLE1) US licensing exam and received the ECFMG2) certificate, which allows foreign graduates in the United States to pursue residency and then practice medicine in the United States. He held talks with the US universities UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and Ohio Clinical Foundation, but ultimately decided to stay in Europe for personal reasons.
Initially, his main interest was in the fields of hematology and cellular immunotherapies, in particular bone marrow transplantation. He had the opportunity to work first at the Royal Free Hospital in London (England), then at the Hôpital Necker-Enfants malades in France.
Dr. Grimaldi obtained a diploma in cellular immunotherapies at the University René Descartes in Paris.
In the second phase of his career, he turned to family medicine, focusing more on the clinical opportunities for better coordinated communication between primary care and hospitals.
He completed his specialist training in England and France before practicing as a GP in Kent and Essex.
As part of a pilot project to train GPs with special interests, he took part in training at both the Primary Care Trust (PCT) in Tendring and the cognitive behavioral therapy and neurology departments at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
He subsequently worked as a locum and permanent doctor in France, particularly in the Côte d'Azur/Département Alpes Maritimes area. He obtained an inter-university diploma in cognitive behavioral therapy at the University of Reims.
From 2014, he worked 50% in hospitals in Switzerland (Bellelay, Meiringen, Spital Thun) in the psychiatry and psychogeriatrics departments, contributing his knowledge and experience from the fields of general medicine and psychotherapy. Since 2015, he has worked 50% as a general practitioner at the Baptista Health Center in La Chaux-de-Fonds and at the Mylife medical practice in Solothurn (Switzerland).
In 2019, he completed a year abroad at the Highfield Unit in Oxford in the Department of Child Psychiatry. At the same time, he continued his Master's degree in Experimental and Translational Medicine at the same university.
In 2020, as part of a collaboration between the Arud Center in Zurich and the University of Sorbonne in Paris (France), he obtained a national diploma in the field of gerontology with Prof. Belmin (work on emotional intelligence and cognitive neurology)
His professional and life concept is based on the philosophy of the Italian Renaissance, namely the idea of the versatility of the human being, who immerses himself in different fields of knowledge by building bridges between seemingly distant disciplines.
In his spare time, he composes music and writes songs in which he combines the existentialist poetry of the French poets Verlaine and Beaudelaire with progressive rock.
It is both a pleasure and an honor for him to be able to work together with the managing director Mr. Jonathan König of the family and paediatric practice König, Prof. med. Dr. Rainer Galaske, paediatrician and the staff. The Kinderkönig Institute was founded by pediatrician Dr. med. Stephan König, a great Renaissance man (humanist), poet, doctor and master of the inner life.
He is proud to be available to the citizens of Brig with the most modern and latest methods for the treatment and prevention of psychosomatic illnesses.
